<3 to Alex (
This is for the game Fiery Inception. And I don't own Anthony Rapp.
| The Basics |
Character Name: Charles "Charlie" Arcturus Weasley PB: Anthony Rapp Age: 27, going on 28 Birthday: 12 December, 1972 Wand: 7.5", Dragonheartstring, Ash House in School: Gryffindor, naturally. Was House Seeker, after all. Bloodline: Pureblood. Political View: Like most Weasleys, Charlie sides on... the side of the Order of the Phoenix. His hatred for Voldemort was adamant-- not that he really liked the Ministry either, but. He joined the Order, while still in Romania, during what was his brother's and Harry's fifth year. |
| Appearance |
Height: 5'10.5" Weight: 162lbs. Eyes: Blue, with a greenish rim around his pupils (which tend to be dilated, for no reason). Hair: Well, red, albeit a shade lighter than most of the other Weasleys. Tends to be rather messy and is slightly curly in a loose, unruly way. Never having to touch it in the morning is fine with Charlie. Sometimes, when he feels especially daring or active, he may decide to comb it. But something he's taken to recently is-- hats. Oh, does he like hats. Mostly berets and beatnik looking things. They're fun, he thinks. Mostly blacks and greens (the hats, that is). What a nice accessory. Build: Medium/stocky, muscular in a non-steroid-pumping kind of way. Dress Style: Casual, slightly bookish- if you know what I mean. Charlie usually wears browns and blues- with a slightly eclectic (a.k.a. hats, or sunglasses, or maybe a bright button, or something)touch. He usually wears corduroy trousers with a wide array of tops. Since he's come back from Romania, Charlie's gotten horn-rimmed spectacles (bearing a striking resemblance to Percy). His vision isn't what it used to be. Curse age. Also, his shoes- which are brown loafers, looking worse for wear, which he found in a second-hand shop, are probably the most comfortable things on the planet- or at least the greater London area. Or at least he thinks so. Basic Physical Description: He is rather, well- 'strapping', as handling beasts many times larger than one takes a bit of muscle. He wouldn't describe himself as 'fit' (in the aesthetic sense), as he's not as good looking as Bill (before the werewolf-thing), but he isn't horrific either. He's thought about a tattoo, but isn't sure what and isn't sure where Molly wouldn't see it (and the obvious is too painful). Defining Marks: Having dealt with dragons for many years, Charlie has had his share of burns and has his share of scars all down his arms and legs (which is luckier than most). His skin is unusually rough from the dragons-- and he has freckles that cover nearly every inch of his skin- but have faded, since he's returned to England. |
| Personality |
Charlie is, or comes off to others, as a friendly, intelligent person, if a little strange. He is quite the brain- not to mention, fantastic at Quidditch (even if not as good as Harry or Viktor Krum). Sometimes though, his sarcasm and snarky comments tend to be taken as an offense, and people call him rude. AS of late, he's trying to be more like his father- nice. It's tough, but one can only try. Charlie enjoys simple things, usually- like playing around with his family, spending time with them, painting, --etc. He may seem a little insecure sometimes, which he is, but tries not to come across as such. He reads quite frequently, especially when he thirsts for the adventure of Romania again. Charlie tends to be a bit indecisive, never really knowing what he's getting at or where he's going. Some might say he's absent-minded, although he does have an unusually good memory for names and dates. And like any good Weasley, he could eat his weight in food- something Molly doesn't object to. But, Charlie is no actor- people can usually tell what he's feeling, no matter his attempts to mask them. In general, he's optimistic- "at least" is rather a catch phrase of his. One thing many people find odd is the way he talks, as Charlie tends to switch his wording around because he thinks it's fun- especially when people get confused-- or when he's being satirical, they get confused and insulted; which he finds most annoying. Charlie is also very quick to react to things- whether it be in a dangerous situation, or playing chess. Although, not entirely irascible, Charlie's anger can escalate quickly, depending on the given situation. If it's something he feels an affinity for, he will defend it like you soiled his mother's good name, if it's something he considers trivial, Charlie might not bother responding. In the past, Charlie's received his share of Howlers from his parents, but thankfully, Fred and George make him look like the perfect son. Despite the fact that he's rather shy, there are days when he feels reckless and will approach almost anyone, telling them quite exaggerated things because it's entertaining. Charlie listens to Muggle music and reads many Muggle books (i.e. The Talking Heads is his favo(u)rite band and Douglas Coupland, Dave Eggers, David Foster Wallce, and Dave Sedaris his favo(u)rite authors.) Sometimes, when feeling reckless, Charlie will submit some of his writings to satirical magazines for fun and that sort of thing. He is easily bored and easily swings to and from different emotions. All around though, he is likeable enough. Like Arthur, Charlie is interested in Muggles- rather a lot. Not in the sense of tinkering around with their technology, just the way that they think and act. As it tends (obviously) to be very different from the wizard perspective. As for habits-- well, Charlie drinks (rather a lot lately) and sometimes has a cigarette- never around Molly, though. For obvious reasons. |
| Psychology |
Extrovert/Introvert: I guess Charlie would be considered rather an introvert, sometimes- if he doesn't know a person, he won't be the one to strike up a conversation. He doesn't mind being approached, though and can talk about almost anything. When he does know people, they can expect to hear his opinions and such voiced loudly. As he is related to Fred and George, he does have an obnoxious side and enjoys games and all that. Boggart Would Be: . A clock- a small little clock, with its hands moving diligently across its face. But it's not the actual clock that terrifies Charlie- Thank God. But, rather the thought of time. Procrastination has always been a part of Charlie's life-- wasting time is an art, he used to say. But now, he feels he's running out. After Percy's death, especially, Charlie felt the grave a little to close. He was going to die young. He was going to die young. Time is running out for Charlie- he's not married, has no children, and he's going to die. Not to mention, that ticking is enough to drive anyone mad. Patronus Would Be: Charlie's Patronus is a centaur. Mysterious though they are (rather unlike Charlie), they are observers. They read signs and know (know what?! They just know.), but choose only to look on. Charlie, while siding with the Order and helping them out many times, observes. When young he never took sides, unless it was his own. He also feels rather cheated most of the time, for reasons he can't pinpoint. But, oh well. He likes centaurs- even if they abhor humans. All the same... |
| Sexuality |
Straight, but not narrow- that is Charlie. He doesn't have a problem thinking other men are attractive, but he doesn't lust after them. As for his love life, dry, really. Being in Romania all the time didn't really give him a chance to forge any kind of relationship- besides the weekly one-night-stand, which really...isn't a relationship, is it? There was one woman (she was quite a bit older than him- near 40) there- whom Charlie actually lived with for a while (not that he told anyone), but that... well didn't work out. Anyway, as he's been home for a couple of years now, Charlie has had three relationships, one was actually a Muggle and the other two were girls he had known in school,- all lasting around three months. But, unlike Bill, he is not ready to settle down anyway. |
| Lifestyle |
Occupation: A Dragon Handler/Keeper. Or at least, he was. For now, Charlie is doing odd jobs in Diagon Alley (mainly with Gringotts, thanks to Bill) and-- actually, painting. Although, that probably doesn't count as an occupation. Residence: Charlie lives in his own small, one-room house located just outside of London. It's a little brick thing with a black stove in the east corner and his cot in the west. Despite his mother's mumbles, Charlie loves it- he hangs his paintings on the walls-- or paints on the walls themselves, and just does what he wants. It is a suiting place for him. Financial Status: Well, not exactly well-to-do, but not too bad. Charlie has been saving money since his first job, all those years ago, and has more than enough for one person. His working in Romania gave substantial pay and it is only by choice that Charlie lives in such a small place. But, again, he's saving. Even if he doesn't know why. |
| Family |
Parents: Molly (nee. Prewett) and Arthur Weasley Siblings: Bill, Percy (although, he's passed on), Fred and George, Ron, and Ginny. Of course Charlie gets along with everyone, when he's not being moody. He is quite easy-going, as are most of the Weasleys (excluding Molly). Sometimes he feels at odds with the others, but believes it to be due to his 'enstrangement'/time in Romania. When home he tends to either be with Bill (although, this is unusual now, due to Bill's marriage), Fred and/or George, or Ginny. Like the twins, he loves to give Ron a hard time-- and the same to Percy, when he was around. There is absolutely no pressure on a pureblood relationship- although Molly is pushing for marriage, something Charlie ignores. With Arthur, Charlie plays many rounds of Wizards' Chess and discusses the Ministry. When he can, Charlie loves staying at the Burrow as it's always full of things to do and people to take the mickey out on. |
| History from student days at Hogwarts to the present time |
Growing up with his parents and six siblings- in the chaos that is the Weasley home (the Burrow), Charlie and his family were quite- well, poor. They had hand-me-downs for everything imaginable (including undergarments, which always boggled Charlie). Despite this, the family was and is very close-knit, but vastly different. Each child had his (or her) own strengths- and received all the love they could handle- not to mention, they could make their very own Quidditch team (something not many other families could do). The family was happy- even in a time of fear. Voldemort's reign was something Charlie was aware of, even at a young age. His mum's cousins were killed in the first 'war' against Voldemort (Fabian and Gideon), as were some of his dad's family (although the children were never told who exactly). Mr. Weasley worked many nights and days without seeing his family, but Charlie understood he was helping to "save the world", or at least that's how he saw it. Fortunately, the Weasley family remained untouched- despite the few scares it had over the course of the 70s. Shortly before his eighth birthday, the Wizarding world was again at peace-- a baby had brought down You-Know-Who. Everything was right in the world. After his 11th birthday in '83, Charlie received his letter from Hogwarts. No surprise. Charlie Weasley was no Squib. He than began at Hogwarts in 1984- and ended up in the same House as Bill, already in his third year,- Gryffindor. At first, he felt slightly outcast, being a) a redhead and b) shy and... c) known only as Bill's little brother. But after the first week, he was already making many friends, in all Houses (even Slytherin) and his name was known. Charlie did well in his classes. But at the end of the year, he did was ready to go home and see his little brothers- and baby sister. Throughout his entire time at Hogwarts, Charlie loved it. He joined the Quidditch team his third year and remained Seeker (and was Captain) until he left- winning Gryffindor four House Cups. And despite his good grades, he never lived up to Bill's being a Prefect and Head Boy. Not that he minded. Really. There were also many rumours going about Hogwarts (unknown to Charlie) that he was rather-- loose, if you will, with girls. He didn't really ever have any lasting relationships, but was more of a... 'one-night-stand' kind of a guy, even though that's not really what he was looking for. Finishing up at Hogwarts in 1991, Charlie immediately took a job in Romania where he was to handle dragons. And against Molly's warnings, he went. He was adaptable and easily fit in- even learning some of the language. The other men he worked with were from all over the globe- but none from England, which was okay with him. Every year he would go home for Christmas and a few other occasions and visit his family. It wasn't until the late 90s when he did go home to stay. The decision to come home was a tough one for the man (or boy, really), but with the 'War' he knew he had to. He had to be there to help and had to be there to protect his family. Not to mention, he'd just recently had his heart stomped on with a spiked heel, and he didn't think he really wanted to stick around... Since then, Charlie has not really tried to rejoin Wizard society. He helped, alongside his family, fight against the 'Dark side,' as it were, but really has put forth no effort to rebuild or be known. Many of his mates from Hogwarts, to whom he writes, think he's still in Romania-- and he does nothing to correct such thoughts. For if people did know he'd come back, they'd want to visit and interact, and they'd wonder why he didn't tell them. Well, he knows why. As of right now, Charlie would much rather be alone. Maybe he's stubborn- maybe jealous-, who cares. Charlie doesn't think people need to know he's returned. He could, he supposed, just tell them he's home, but something horrible's happened and they'd best leave him alone for a while-- but what would he tell them? Or maybe he could just say he needed some time- solitary-like. But, ...well. It was much easier to just let them think what they wanted. But what he really wants is to maybe just go see his mum and eat. Eating always makes a person feel better. |
